Are You Marketing to the Right Audience?

Are you marketing to the right audience?

Are you spending a lot of time and effort marketing yet not seeing the results you want? You may be targeting the wrong audience.

Many entrepreneurs and small business owners get caught in a rut when it comes to marketing, often getting frustrated and overwhelmed identifying the best strategy and methodology for reaching their audience.

While it certainly matters what you do and how you do it, it also matters who and where you focus your efforts. In essence, you can do all the right things for the wrong people and you’ll experience lackluster results.

 Everyone is Not Your Customer.

When you think in terms of who you want to be marketing to, there are a few things you want to ask yourself:

1. Who needs my products and services?
2. Who wants what I have to offer?
3. Who can afford what I’m selling?

If you put more emphasis on who needs and wants your service without considering who’s willing to pay and who can actually afford your service, you will not yield the outcome you want.

Once you figure out who wants, needs and can afford your services you can then scan your current customer base to identify additional demographics such as: industry, age range, income, geographical location, etc.

From there you can tailor your messages and marketing collateral to speak directly to those that need, want and are willing to pay for your products and services, hence the right audience.
